I remember very well the moment when I decided how my first album was going to be. It was from a performance in a beautiful and small venue in Barcelona called Heliogàbal. I played with Refree and in that concert there were about 30 people in the audience (at that time I had to convince them to come). It was something intimate and imperfect but cathartic to me. Heliogàbal is just one of those venues where I played when I started as a teenager, just like El Pastís, Robadors 23, Jamboree, Mediterráneo, Alfa Bar, Jazz, for example. And that is something I won’t forget.
If it were not for all these spaces, I would not have been able to find myself as a musician, as a performer, as an artist.
Long live these little temples of live music, we must protect them because, without them, music lovers are lost. For example: where will we go to see a show with a pianist just a few steps away that excites us? Or tell me what happens if we stay without those future artists, songs or ideas that come out of there!!! We have to keep making people happy with music, with new music and the venues should never miss us.
Recuerdo muy bien el momento en que decidí cómo iba a ser mi primer disco. Fue a partir de una actuación en una preciosa y pequeña sala de Barcelona llamada Heliogàbal. Toqué con Refree y en esa actuación habría como 30 personas (que por aquel entonces me costó lo suyo convencer para que al final se vinieran). Fue algo íntimo e imperfecto pero catártico para mí. Heliogàbal es solo una de esas salas en las que toqué cuando empecé de adolescente, en El Pastís, Robadors 23, Jamboree, Mediterráneo, Alfa Bar, JazzSí también por ejemplo. Y eso no se me va a olvidar.
Si no fuera por todos estos espacios yo no me habría podido encontrar a mí misma como músico, como performer, como artista.
Larga vida a estos pequeños templos de música en directo, debemos protegerlos porque, sin ellos, los amantes de la música estamos perdidos. Por ejemplo: dónde iremos a ver un show con un pianista a un palmo de distancia que nos emocione? O dime qué pasa si nos quedásemos sin esos futuros artistas, canciones o ideas que salen de ahí!!! Tenemos que seguir haciendo feliz a la gente con la música, con nueva música y las salas no deben faltarnos nunca.
